Located deep on the African continent, the Republic of South Africa is gaining more and more spotlight. Some famous faces were born there too! Actress Charlize Theron, supermodel Candice Swanepoel, and Olympic swimmer Chad le Clos – just to name a few. Alas, the country itself still remains a mystery to many. It is not the thirst thing, that comes to mind, when thinking about a holiday destination for yourself or your family. That is a shame, because South Africa is indeed a beautiful country and has many hidden treasures to offer.
Discover the unknown
One of the most magnificent places to see in South Africa is Kruger National Park. It is one of the biggest game reserves not only in Africa, but in the world. There you can admire zebras, giraffes, leopards and other wild animals in their natural habitat. You do not need a bachelor in biology to appreciate that. It is not only a great opportunity to come in close contact with nature, but a way to spend quality time with your loved ones in a beautiful, natural environment. The park can be accessed through nine gates.
Natural beauty all around
The game reserve is not the only natural wonder you can see in South Africa. The Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, located in Cape Town, close to Table Mountain, is another wonder you should not miss. It was founded in early 20th century to preserve the unique flora of its area. Nowadays it is the most famous botanical garden in the country, being home to hundreds of plant species on more than 500 hectares. It was also named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, due to its importance and impact on preserving nature as we know it today.
